Hallo,

Nope. Aber schön wärs.

Hab da vermutlich was überlesen.

Bedurfte einiges an Nacharbeit

Darf man Fragen was der Tausch der Köpfe kosten würde incl. überarbeiten der Ventilführungen?

Infos/Vermutungen zum Thema Bronzeführungen im LS7 Kopf:

I just got off the phone with the guy who does TFS's durability testing, has these heads on his dyno right now and will for at least the next month plus. He said all his experience shows running a bronze guide in a head/engine like the LS7 will definitely have poor life expectancy, this is why TFS spends considerably more money to use PM guides and NOT bronze. He was VERY clear, if you have bronze guides in your LS7 they WILL wear out considerably faster than PM guides, there is no debate about this fact.

This should give those who have done the typical bronze/SS 'fix' some cause to at least consider a periodic wiggle test

As for flow numbers, the 393 figure was achieved at .700" lift, at .600" they flowed 375cfm. My experience with TFS advertised numbers is that they are definitely NOT over estimated. Also remember this is being done with a small 260cc port. The stock port is 270 and I can only imagine how big they get with a typical porting job.

There is a good probability TFS will offer a ti intake valve option and I lobbied strongly to also ensure they would at least test the drilled out Ferrea exhaust valves if not the GM sodium valves too.

Cheers, Paul.

I love that the internet is full of guys who are not in the industry boasting their “knowledge” about what the industry does and doesn’t know. Let’s start with the fact that no endurance racing team uses powdered metal guides in their engines. Contrary to the assertions made below there is debate as to whether bronze valve guides are more durable. For starters the running clearance used in PM guides is roughly twice the clearance that can be safely used in bronze guides. The author of the below post cites one engine dyno operator. Hardly analytical data for backing his argument. I am a guy who basis my opinion on thoroughly researched data and personal experiences and trends. I see no empirical data to support or refute the PM argument.
We have been installing bronze valve guides in cylinder heads for over thirty years. The heads don’t seem to be coming back needing replacement guides after a few thousand mile as suggested by the author of the post. The point here is that when properly setup valve guide life will be high in any application. When things are not setup properly (see the oem setup) there will be accelerated guide wear. The bronze guides are not an issue with the LS7 heads.

I hope this helps

427 Convertible 2013 - Yanick - 14.12.2013

Hallo liebe Gemeinde

Hans
