sooo .... der Rahmen ist eingebaut und lässt sich gut auf- und zuklappen. Das Justieren war mit Hilfe der im Web gefundenen Anleitung recht gut machbar. (habe ich unten angefügt)
Das erste Problem trat beim Schließen des Deck Lids auf.
Die Kante des Innenschwenkarm vom Rahmen schrammte am Deckel.
Nach Abrunden der Kante mit anschliessendem Lackfinish war das Problem erledigt.
Das zweite Problem zeigte sich nach Einbau der Sitze.
Bei vollkommen zurückgeschobenen Sitzen kollidieren die inneren Rahmen-Scharniere mit der Rücklehne (auf beiden Seiten). Zum Ausklappen des Rahmens müssen die Sitze ca. 4cm vorgeschoben werden, können dann danach wieder ganz zurück geschoben werden.
Damit könnte man leben, aber muss man damit leben ?
Habt ihr das gleiche Problem oder deutet das auf eine fehlerhafte Justierung hin.
Einen Spielraum von 4cm beim Justieren sehe ich allerdings nicht.
Es ist ein Rahmen von „Sullys Tops“ für Bj 61/62.
Eigentlich hatte ich geplant, den Bezug vom Sattler aufziehen zu lassen, aber da hier in der Nähe die Anzahl der „C1-Sattler“ gegen „0“ läuft, überlege ich es selbst zu machen.
Dazu wäre das erwähnte Installations-Video sicher sinnvoll, auch wenn es kein Al Knock Top ist.
Woher kann ich die besagte Video CD beziehen, habe bisher nur einen Anbieter in USA (in $) gefunden. Muss man die CD tatsächlich über den Grossen Teich hier her transportieren ?
Ich würde sie auch abkaufen oder gegen Schutzgebühr „leasen“.

It sounds like you have two issues. The front section of the frame is bent, and the pivot point above the center of the window is not pulled straight. As the other posters have said, the bend is caused from an over tight top, or an improper adjustment. The "droop" in the center is caused by an improper adjustment of the "attenuating" arms, which are the inboard arms. This is a tricky adjustment, and affects the fold of the top frame, and the pull of the top at the center of the window. You can adjust this without removing the top. If the rag is too tight, you're going to have problems anyways, but you might give this procedure a try first.
Unlatch the front latches.
Unlatch the back, an lift the decklid.
Leave the top open and in place.
Loosen ONLY the inboard bolts on the attenuating arm brackets. There are 2 on each side (they should be 3/8" carriage bolts, so you only need a 9/16" wrench.
To make the adjustment, hold the header bow off (above) the windshield about 2", and at the same time hold the side brackets above the window so that it's straight. You can use a helper, or fold some towels to lay on the windshield frame, but make sure that you are keeping the side rails in a straight line. (don't worry about the front one that is bent right now).
Now, push the attenuating arm back and up as high as it will go, and tighten the bolts.
What that arm does, is pull the center of the side frame "up" as the top is folded up. So..... when you lower the frame back onto the windshield, it should feel a little stiff, and the side rails should be dead straight.
Now, here's the tricky part. Try folding the top back into the well. If if won't collapse completely, loosen the LOWER bolts on the attenuating arm brackets, and then push down a little bit on the top. The pivot point on the attenuating arm/bracket will roll forward a little bit. If it doesn't, then leave the bottom bolts loose, and loosen the top JUST ENOUGH so that the bracket will roll.
Tighten everything down, and raise the top to see if you maintained enough "pull" on the attenuating arm to level the center.
If not....you get to start all over !!! Once you've played around with that adjustment for awhile, you'll see how it affects the side rail. It's not for the faint of heart, and you probably won't get it on the first try. You won't find this in any books, and most top shops don't have a clue how to make this adjustment. The C1 cars are the only ones with this extra adjustment. Starting with the C2 cars, the attenuation was built into the main hinge points. Good luck.
