Web - Vega - 21.07.2004 Hallo, can anyone post links to some popular auto sale web site's based in Germany besides ebay.de? - AK - 21.07.2004 autoscout24.de mobile.de - hubsi - 21.07.2004 Komfortabler: ![]() http://www.autoscout24.de http://www.mobile.de http://www.faircar.de http://www.autoboerse.de http://www.autoaktuell.de http://www.automobile.de http://www.webauto.de http://www.quoka.de und... http://www.ebay.de ![]() - Vega - 21.07.2004 Thanks for the thorough responses. I have one more question: does the auto prices stated on these sites already include VAT or no? How do private parties handle the tax? - Mikey - 21.07.2004 Private parties don't care about VAT .....especially when dealing with used cars. Dealers have to include a current 16% VAt in their prices to private parties unless vehicle stated to be export only. If you wan't to sell a car to a private party over here in Germany you need to think about customs....as this will happen to be paid if you sell to a member of the EU. Customs in Germany adds 10% + an additional 16% VAT on vehicle price and shipping fares.....a true money machine. The numbers stated above are for importing cars to Germany (i.e. from the US, or owned by a US citizen). These numbers vary a little througout the EU. - Vega - 21.07.2004 I follow you. So, in order for me to compete with the private party prices listed on these web sites I would need to decrease my base price by atleast 26% or greater right off the bat? Does anyone know how much of a hassel it is to transfer ownership from a U.S. citizen in Germany to a German national? Paper work, costs etc. Thanks for all of your help. - 454Big - 21.07.2004 costs of the transfer - despite customs and taxes, speaking of fees only - would be in the 250 - 400 EURO range. Not including the cost for modifications to make the car road legal in the EC. Hope that helps. |
