Bereits 2015 im US-Forum erläutert:

If the white wire is not clipped, when you apply the brakes both the red and either amber or clear portion of the taillight comes on at the same time. Clipping the white wire allows the amber or clear portion to only come on when the turn signals or flashers are activated.

I believe by not using the euro harness, the lights will not work as designed. It is a simple install procedure so no real reason not to use the correct harness. 

Also lediglich das weiße Kabel trennen, dann sollte es klappen! Falls nicht, ist da bereits vorher dran gearbeitet worden.
