Yep, that is always the problem when ordering in the usa. Some people seemed to find a (maybe illegal), but cheap way to get around VAT and reduce shipping . . .
I would not consider that.
I dont know how often you are in the states, or if you have friends in the usa who could assist you in buying parts there for your car (you can reduce shipping, tax and custom dramatically in getting some help from us residence - legally !).
If you plan to make vacation there, make a "wishlist" and be happy to go shopping there for your car . . .its like in wonderland !
What the BMW and VW guys have here in germany is the USA for us corvette guys
