Sorry, it is not possible to locate the origin engine and it's version from just the VIN.
If you can still find the tank sticker on top of your gas tank you may have a chance for veryfying.
Kind regards

Hi,

did you find the option code sticker on the tank? There are all RPO´s including the engine.
You refered the engine number? The digits 9 and 10 should give the answer.

Best regards!

Marco

Or better you can ask a Forummember "Porter" he has a BB C3 and I´m sure he has photos of his engine bay Feixen

Hi

By looking at some features of your car, you might be able to eliminate certain engine options from your car,
like, how many steel fuel lines are there ? if only 1, you could have had a 427 hi-performance car.
Number of leaves in the back leaf spring, 7 or 9
type of drive half shaft caps, red line RPM ,
and some more.
It will be nearly impossible to pinpoint it all the way down to only one engine ( type ) without the tank sticker, window sticker.

Good luck. Gunther
early 1968 L71 tri-power big block convertible.
GM-T56 Viper 6 speed manual , 4.11 rear.
HOOKER chrome side pipes. Long L88 hood.
Tires front 235 rear 255 on 8x15 real wire spoke rims
You can't beat short stroke displacement . besoffen

hi Gunther
i can tell that the car has no options
no powerbrakes
no powersteering
no aircon
a really hardhitter
paint code is 900 --- tuxido black
trim is 402 black leather
it is a littel different than normal

how do you tell that it has been that way ever since ?

.....there is only a best guess after about 35 years what it might have been if you do not have the tank sticker. original engine and casting dates of some of the stuff might help.....but still....you can't be sure about every detail.
